Firefighter Safety and Survival (8 hours)

SCBA emergency procedures

 

This class is focused on teaching the firefighter how to avoid getting in trouble. The traditional issues such as freelancing, failing to call a mayday, etc. are examined at length. The day starts in the classroom where some of the issues are examined. The balance of the day (90%) is used to teach skills that will assist a firefighter in peril. Skills include:

  • Entanglement escape training
  • SCBA emergency procedures
  • Firefighter escapes on a hose line
  • Ladder bailouts
  • Personal escape rope bailouts
